HARVESTING AND MARKETING

        

Harvesting:

Shrimps are harvested by drag nets in most ponds. The harvested shrimps are packed with ice in trays after proper washing in freshwater. Draining of water and harvest should be completed within 6-8 hours, mostly between 6 pm and 6 am. The harvested shrimps were sold to the dealer companies near me. They will collect the harvested shrimps at the time of harvest.

                                        

     
                                        

              

Marketing:

Harvesting tons of shrimps is most difficult task but marketing them is the quite easier to sell them away on the spot of pond. The selling price of shrimp is valued by its count (C), The count of the shrimp is calculated by the shrimps that are weighted for 1 kg is considered as the count of the crop. With the help of count calculator application that provided by some aquaculture association, That is used to get the rate of the count at that point of time on the day of harvest.
